Defending Freedom of Conscience
The Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Department of the Southwest Region Conference is committed to promoting and defending the God-given right to freedom of religion and conscience. We advocate for the separation of church and state and work to protect the religious liberty of all people, regardless of faith tradition.
Our department provides guidance and legal referrals for members facing workplace discrimination due to Sabbath observance, educates congregations about religious liberty issues, and engages with government officials on legislation affecting freedom of worship. We also coordinate Religious Liberty Sabbath observances and distribute educational materials.
In a world where religious freedom faces increasing challenges, PARL stands as a vigilant advocate for the rights of our members and all citizens. We believe that liberty of conscience is a sacred trust from God and must be preserved for future generations.
