About Vanston Archbold, Jr.

Pastor Vanston Archbold, Jr. serves as the Vice President for Diversity of the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. His multicultural background and extensive international ministry experience make him uniquely qualified to lead the conference's diversity initiatives.

Background

Born in Colombia, Elder Archbold was raised across Colombia, Jamaica, and the United States, giving him a rich multicultural perspective and fluency in navigating diverse communities. This international upbringing shaped his deep commitment to building bridges across cultural boundaries within the church.

Ministry & Leadership

Elder Archbold has served in various pastoral and administrative roles throughout his career in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. His service has spanned multiple levels of church organization, from local congregations to union and division leadership.

Among his notable accomplishments, Elder Archbold served as the youngest president of the Inter-American Division (IAD), one of the largest and most diverse divisions of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. This appointment reflected his exceptional leadership abilities and his capacity to unite diverse constituencies under a common mission.

Elder Archbold also served as chaplain at Huguley Hospital, where he provided spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and staff, further deepening his pastoral experience in healthcare ministry.

Now serving as Vice President for Diversity at the Southwest Region Conference, Elder Archbold leads efforts to embrace and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within the conference territory, ensuring that all members feel welcomed and valued regardless of their background.

Family

Elder Archbold is married to Ketys Bassa. Together they are the proud parents of three children: Kerwin, Kevin, and Keily. The Archbold family is deeply committed to serving the diverse communities of the Southwest Region Conference.
