About Dr. Carlton P. Byrd

Dr. Carlton P. Byrd is the President of the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. A dynamic leader, gifted preacher, published author, and accomplished administrator, Dr. Byrd has dedicated over 31 years to gospel ministry, during which time he has been instrumental in the baptism of more than 23,000 individuals.

Ministry & Leadership

Dr. Byrd has served in various pastoral and administrative capacities throughout his career. He pastored the historic Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where he led the Berean Christian Junior Academy and Berean Outreach Ministries, Inc. -- a community development corporation that secured a $5.2 million HUD grant for a 52-unit senior living facility.

From 2010 to 2021, Dr. Byrd served as the Speaker/Director of the Breath of Life Television Ministry, the premier media ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, broadcasting on networks including BET, TBN, HOPE Channel, Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), and various local stations.

Southwest Region Conference Presidency

Elected President of the Southwest Region Conference in 2021, Dr. Byrd has led the conference to remarkable achievements:

  • More than $1 million in tithe growth
  • Over 2,500 baptisms during his tenure
  • Eliminated conference debt
  • Major campground renovations at Lone Star Camp
  • Strengthened and expanded conference ministries

Family

Dr. Byrd is married and the proud father of two children. He and his family reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and are deeply committed to serving the communities of the Southwest Region Conference territory.
